Info

Sofia Miller, is an independent artist and producer based in Victoria, British Columbia creating music in the genres of alternative, folk, experimental with hints of jazz, shoe-gaze and rock.

She has made her most recent mark with her first full-length studio album, ‘Prologue’. Recorded in Montreal with producer Guillaume Guilbault, this alt-folk record reflects Sofia’s personal journey of moving from the East to the West of Canada, addressing the growing pains and the profound realizations that come with one’s early 20s. Taking pages from other alternative female songstresses like Julia Jacklin and Lianne La Havas, ‘Prologue’ is lyrically confessional with harmonious full band accompaniment. From her creative guitar licks to her soft airy falsetto, ‘Prologue’ is full of Sofia’s untaught, unique sonics but this time exists in a hi-fi, polished sound. This release is her fullest realization as an artist thus far as she departs from her makeshift bedroom sound to a more vivid and rich aural world.

Active since 2020, Sofia has put out 3 collaborative projects with friend Jack Lytle, and 2 solo EPs that predate 2024’s Prologue. Her earlier work is exploratory and DIY in nature with production, mixing, and mastering being skills she was determined to learn by doing and refines project to project.

2024 has been Sofia’s biggest year with her first full-length studio album, ‘Prologue’ released independently at the top of the year, the forming of her live band with a rotating cast of Victoria’s music scene and her first 10 date Western Canada tour under her belt.

In March 2025, Sofia released her instrumental album, ‘i follow, it guides’. She is currently in the process of recording her sophomore studio album at Risque Disque with Shilo Preshyon as well as producing, mixing, writing and playing for other local projects in Victoria.
